In 2020, e-commerce retail sales are expected to soar to a whooping 4,058 billion US dollars globally. B2C transactions are estimated to rise to 2,356 US dollars. With a market penetration of 32.8% of worldwide internet users in 2019, as well as very low barriers to entry, online commerce has become an essential sales tool. It is defined by knowledgeable players, specific marketing rules and strict regulations that govern this new selling space. This course allows students to identify and understand how e-commerce functions, define and analyze online consumer behavior, and study closely what makes or breaks a business online.
